Wolves Youth Rugby Launches Successful Fall Flag Rugby Program

The Wolves Youth Rugby program in Boise, ID successfully hosted a new four-week Fall 5th & 6th Grade Flag Rugby program in September. With practices held twice a week, the young athletes made fantastic progress learning the fundamentals of rugby in a fun and fast-paced environment. Each practice built on the last, blending skill development drills, mini-games, and team challenges that kept the energy high and the smiles wide. A mix of new and experienced players resulted in notable improvement from Week 1 to Week 4, with participants demonstrating strong teamwork, sportsmanship, and a growing understanding of rugby’s flow and strategy.
The season concluded with a Flag Rugby Jamboree that brought together players from the previous Spring season for round-robin warm-up games and a championship match. Tackling bags were even brought out for players to enjoy some post-game fun, making for a great finale to the inaugural Fall Flag Rugby program. Designed primarily to welcome new players and families to the Rugby Idaho community, the event was a resounding success.
Special thanks go to USA Youth & High School Rugby, Imagine Rugby, and Rugby Idaho for supporting the successful launch of this new youth rugby initiative. Appreciation is also extended to the coaches, parents, and dedicated volunteers whose enthusiasm and commitment made the program such a positive experience. Their efforts helped create a strong foundation for what promises to be a growing Fall Youth Rugby tradition in the years ahead.
