May 22 to May 24, 2025, Elkhart, Indiana - The Moose Rugby Grounds hosted the Boys High School National Rugby Championships for the fourth consecutive year. The tournament featured 24 elite teams from across the United States, competing in three divisions: Single-School Tier 1, High School Club Tier 1, and Tier 2.
Single-School Tier 1: Saint Ignatius
In the premier division, Saint Ignatius High School (Ohio) secured the national title with a tight 20–17 victory over Herriman (Utah) in the championship match.
High School Club Tier 1: San Diego Mustangs
The San Diego Mustangs (SoCal) captured the Club Tier 1 championship over the #1 seed and defending Champions, Charlotte (North Carolina), with a 19-14 win.
Tier 2: South Orange County Raptors
South Orange County Raptors (SoCal) achieved a historic milestone by winning the Tier 2 championship. Their 31-14 triumph over New Trier (Illinois) marked a significant achievement for the program.
Looking Ahead
As rugby continues to gain traction in the United States, the 2025 Boys High School National Rugby Championships not only highlighted the skill and dedication of young athletes, but events like the BHSNC play a crucial role in nurturing young talent and promoting the sport's growth. With the U.S. set to host the Men's and Women's Rugby World Cups in 2031 and 2033, respectively, the success of the 2025 championships in Elkhart underscores the country's readiness to embrace rugby on a larger scale.
